Last week was one of the best weeks of hoops of the year. With that being said, we need to get right into the awards.
Instead of full conference tournament teams, we are going to go with what we felt were the two most outstanding players in each conference tournament in order to make a "Super All Conference" Team. Hopefully I never type "Super All Conference" Team again because it was stupid.
Sam Young, Pitt Big East
Joe Alexander, WVU Big East
Tyler Hansbrough, UNC ACC
Cliff Hammonds, Clemson ACC
Sundiata Gaines, Georgia SEC
Terrance Woodbury, Georgia SEC
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis CUSA

Now for our Mid-Major Honor Roll (All Players are Tournament Bound)...... Lamanna wants you to know that you should watch out for these guys while picking upsets this year.
G Adam Emmenecker Drake (9,000 assists this season for the college Steve Nash)
G Michael Jenkins Winthrop (Dropping 30 is no big deal for Jenkins)
F Taj McCullogh Winthrop (Improved play towards the end of the year)
F Mike Scott Kent State (Fisher gets their pub, but Scott is more diverse... also shares the name of the lead character from "The Office")
G Al Fisher Kent State (14 ppg)
G/F Courtney Lee Western Kentucky (Can score at will, 20.4 ppg)
G Stephen Curry Davidson (If you don't know Curry by now, please stop reading the blog)
G Jason Richards Davidson (Finds Curry when he is open)
G Mike Green Butler (Combo guard averaged 14.9, 6rpb, and 5 apg)
G A.J. Graves Butler (Butler's other combo guard can shoot it)
G Robert Jarvis Oral Roberts (Jarvis is ORU's leading scorer, but he is banged up a little)
G Wink Adams UNLV (Almost 17 ppg this season)
G Patty Mills St. Mary's (He leads the team in scoring at 14 a game)
G Josh Akognon Cal State Fullerton (19.9 ppg)

NCAA POY: This was a two horse race all year, and while we do understand that the best player on the best team deserves some recognition, we just can't overlook how big "lil Mike" was this year.
Michael Beasley Kansas State
NCAA Freshman of the year: Clearly it should be Beasley, but for the sake of giving out more hardware we are giving it to someone else.
Kevin Love UCLA
Take off you pants and jack-it 6th man of the year:
Danny Green UNC
I wish I was a lil bit taller, I coulda been a high major baller award:
Mike Green Butler
Stephen Curry Davidson
Along the same lines, I only weigh 155 pounds:
A.J. Graves Butler
I gets no pub, where is my love all underrated team:
G Adam Emmenecker Drake (Making the girls wet at Drake since November 2007)
G Courtney Lee Western Kentucky (I think we have given Lee some pub in the last 2 days)
F Charron Fisher Niagara (Is listed at 6'4 and 230, but looks more like a 280 pound defensive tackle. The big guy is second in the country in scoring at over 27 ppg. He switches between power forward and shooting guard with ease.
F Sam Young Pitt (Most improved player in the Big East)
C Jarvis Varnado Mississippi State (1st in the nation in blocks, and he actually scores in double figures once in awhile)
They said I was a step slow and an inch short, then I tore up the Pac 10:

Hopefully, the NBA Scouts actually look at production team:
G Darren Collison UCLA (Leader of the team, despite the fact that Westbrook has a better draft stock)
G Eric Gordon Indiana (Despite great numbers, he has fallen on draft boards)
G/F Brandon Rush Kansas (Should have made himself some cash by stepping up in the Big 12 Tournament)
F Darell Arthur Kansas (Stock is falling because of more athletic young guys, but Arthur is Big 12 battle-tested)
C Kevin Love UCLA (Kept the dream alive for stocky white guys the world over by playing great all year)
We do it all, glue guy team:
G A.J. Price Connecticut
G Josh Shipp UCLA
F Kyle Singler Duke
F Tyler Smith Tennessee
C David Padget Louisville
Coach of the year:
Keno Davis Drake
Last, but not least, the most polished 6'10 white guy going award:
Ryan Anderson California (Big guy scored 21.3 ppg both inside and out)
Who knows, depending on how we feel, we could be handing out some more awards today or tomorrow. Stay tuned to the Pick 'n Roll all week for top notch coverage.
