NBA Yearly Awards...... Who is the MVP????

Well it is time to bust out the hardware for the NBA season. Wednesday will mark the final day of the regular season and nothing that will happen in the last few days can change our opinion on the awards. Some awards were posted in our previews of the playoffs, but those awards were selected by the individual poster. The awards posted today were selected by the whole PnR staff after much debate, so the awards may vary from what was previously posted.

1st Team All NBA:
PG- Chris Paul, New Orleans
SG- Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
SF- LeBron James, Cleveland
PF- Kevin Garnett, Boston
C- Dwight Howard, Orlando

2nd Team All NBA:
PG- Steve Nash, Phoenix
SG- Allen Iverson, Denver
SF- Carmelo Anthony, Denver
PF- Carlos Boozer, Utah
C- Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix

Coach of the Year:
Byron Scott, New Orleans

Rookie of the Year:
Kevin Durant, Seattle

Eastern Conference MVP:
LeBron James, Cleveland

Western Conference MVP:
Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers

NBA MVP:
Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers

Other Shit
This was just round one of the awards for the NBA...... Hopefully we will get out of bed sometime this week and be able to post some more awards (things that were posted in the weekly awards blogs of old). Also, PnR has been making a mistake lately. For some odd reason we kept posting that Josh Shipp of UCLA was a senior. We are dumb cunts, he is only a junior.

Lastly, some recommended reading:

http://www.nba.com/features/pit2008_day3.html - A link to the results of the Portsmouth Invitational, a nice place for guys to try to improve their draft stock and get an invite to the Chicago Pre-Draft Camp. Likely, not many people from the Portsmouth Invitational will make an impact of the NBA, but it is a way to check in on some guys you may like. Pat Calathes and Chris Lofton were probably the most familiar players there. Jamar Butler (OSU) was named the MVP of the whole thing.
